Mehmet Rakipoğlu graduated from Sakarya University with a Bachelor of Arts. As part of the Erasmus+ programme, Rakipoglu studied at Szczecin University in Poland. From 2020 to 2021, Rakipoglu was a non-resident fellow at ORSAM. He obtained his PhD from the Middle East Institute at Sakarya University. His doctoral dissertation is entitled "Hedging in Foreign Policy: An Analysis of Saudi Arabia's Post-Cold War Policies towards the United States, China, and Russia." His research interests include hedging theory, foreign policy in the Gulf, Turkish policies towards the Gulf region, and political Islam. In 2022, he edited a Turkish book titled "International Muslim Brotherhood: Ikhwan's Diaspora, Political-Social Bases of the Group". He is featured on various international media platforms, including Al-Jazeera Arabic, Russia Today, China Daily, and TRT Arabic. Rakipoğlu has authored numerous book chapters, essays, and research articles about Gulf Affairs. He has published in many qualified journals indexed in Web of Sciences, including Insight Turkey, Religions, and All Azimuth. He speaks English and Arabic. Research was conducted in Morocco, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Kuwait, and Sudan by Rakipoglu. At Dimensions for Strategic Studies, he has been a researcher specializing in Turkish politics since 2022.
