Fatima Abushanab received her BA in Government and International Politics from George Mason University. She continued her graduate studies at Georgetown University where she received an MA in Liberal Studies with a focus on Muslim-Christian relations. During her time in Washington D.C. she took research assistant positions at Becketfund Organization for Religious Liberty, Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars, and the United States Congress. Her research interests include social movement theory, post-secular religious theory, Islamic political mobilization as well as political anthropology and sociology of religion.
