Biography

Muhammed Huseyin Mercan is an associate professor in the Department of International Relations at Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University, Türkiye. He received a PhD in Political Science and International Relations from Istanbul University in 2017. His areas of interest include Middle Eastern Politics, Turkish foreign policy, and Islamic Movements. He is the author of "Syria: Regime and Foreign Policy" (2012, in Turkish) and "The Rise and Fall of the Muslim Brotherhood: Political Institutionalization Question of the Islamic Movements" (2019, in Turkish). He is also the editor of "Transformation of the Muslim World in the 21st Century" (2016), "Political Economy of the Middle East (with Taha Eğri)" (2022), and "Reconsidering Arab Uprisings (with Mesut Özcan)" (2023). He speaks English and Arabic fluently and is a beginner in Hebrew.
