
Muharrem Kılıç
He completed his legal education at Marmara University Faculty of Law and was appointed associate professor in 2006 and full professor in 2011. Kılıç served for four years as President of the Turkish Human Rights and Equality Institution from 2021 to 2025, and previously held numerous academic and administrative positions, including Dean of the Faculty of Law, Chair of the Department of Public Law, and Chair of the Department of Legal Philosophy and Sociology. His academic interests include legal philosophy and sociology, comparative legal theory, legal methodology, and human rights law. In line with these interests, he has authored numerous scholarly publications — including books, articles, and translations — as well as papers presented at national and international conferences. Kılıç wrote a column for three years in the newspaper Türkiye, and his commentary on current legal-political issues
has appeared in numerous national media outlets, including newspapers, magazines, and television. He currently serves as an advisor to the Ministry of Justice.
