The conflict in eastern Ukraine has pivoted into a deadlock after the US intelligence officials estimated over one hundred thousand Russian troops deployed near the Ukrainian border to support separatists in Donbas and annexed Crimea, signaling a Russian invasion of the country in early 2022. Ukraine's appeal to NATO and the European Union against any possible Russian threat has escalated the tension between sides more than ever since the Cold War.
While the crisis is at its tipping point, the parties' position, the possibility of war, the course of diplomacy, and finally, Turkiye's possible role as a mediator are the focal discussion matters to monitor the situation.
