The training and internship programs organized by the SETA Academy Directorate during the Spring, Summer, and Fall terms were successfully concluded. This year, the programs received hundreds of applications, and following a rigorous evaluation process, selected participants were admitted to various training, internship, and educational modules. The seminar programs conducted throughout 2025 also saw strong participation, with students and young researchers attending the periodical sessions held in SETA’s Ankara and Istanbul offices.
High Demand and Selective Admission
The summer term training and internship program once again attracted significant interest. The Ankara and Istanbul offices received hundreds of applications. The overall acceptance rate stood at approximately 13.7%. Applicants represented students from 146 different universities, with the highest number of applications coming from departments such as international relations, political science and public administration, law, and sociology.
A Combination of Theoretical and Practical Training
Throughout the 2025 programs, trainees had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with SETA’s institutional work culture and directly engage with expert researchers. During the six-week summer program, participants received instruction on think-tank work principles, research methodology, analytical thinking, data collection techniques, and current issues in international relations. Sessions held in Ankara covered topics such as African politics, Syria, Iran, regional security, and Türkiye’s foreign policy. In SETA’s Istanbul office, participants attended courses on media–society relations, political communication, film analysis, higher education policy, and Middle Eastern issues including the Palestine–Gaza context. Additionally, technical sessions were conducted on causality and research methods in the social sciences.
The training, internship, and seminar programs conducted throughout the year reinforced SETA Academy’s mission of equipping young individuals with knowledge, skills, and experience. The diversity of applications, the rich participant profiles, and the wide-ranging educational content once again demonstrated SETA’s strong presence and impact in academic and intellectual production.
