Given the improvements in public finance Turkey has ensured stability in economic growth, eliminated negative effects caused by the debt crisis in EU countries and enjoyed a broad room for maneuver for economy policies since 2002. Turkey, on the other hand, set an array of political, economic and social goals for 2023 and drafted long-term programs and projects in order to attain these goals.

In their report entitled “Public Finance From Past to Present” the director for Economy department of SETA Foundation Erdal Tanas Karagöl and Ülkü İstiklal Ortakaya dwelled on this period. The report analyses fiscal policies adopted during the AK Party ruling, the role of public finance in global economic crisis of 2008 and government policies adopted in order to struggle with this crisis, 2023 economic goals and necessary policies to be adopted to reach these goals.

SETA invites you to attend a public panel by the Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek to discuss above-mentioned report.

We very much hope you will be able to attend this special panel discussion.

Note: Panel discussion will be held in English and Turkish.
