Biography
M. Taki Kurtoğlu was born in 1988 in Fatih, Istanbul. He completed his undergraduate studies in International Trade at Beykent University and in Economics at the Faculty of Economics, Istanbul University. He received his master's degree from the Sociology Department at Beykent University with a thesis titled "The Transformation of Neighborhood Supporters Alongside the City: The Case of Piyalepaşa Neighborhood, Istanbul."
Since 2017, he has been working at the SETA Foundation as an Education Coordinator. In this role, he is responsible for the design, implementation, and reporting of educational programs conducted within the foundation. He also develops and delivers various training contents within the scope of youth projects, workshops, and Erasmus+ programs.
Kurtoğlu's areas of interest include social transformation, urban sociology, sports sociology, and supporter culture. He focuses particularly on the impact of football on neighborhood identity and social belonging.
His articles on sports sociology, fan behavior, and football culture are regularly published in monthly magazines, newspapers, digital platforms, and his personal blog. He also collaborates with youth and sports clubs to develop socially oriented projects that promote public awareness.
