Berrin Afacan

Berrin Afacan has been working in the publication preparation unit of the SETA Foundation since 2019. She completed her undergraduate studies with a double major in Turkish Language and Literature and Sociology in 2014. She earned her master's degree from the Department of Sociology at Marmara University, where she focused her thesis on migration. Between 2014 and 2016, she worked as a TÜBİTAK research assistant on a demographic study conducted in collaboration between the University of Michigan and Middle East Technical University (METU). In 2023, she began her doctoral studies in Turkish Language and Literature at Yıldız Technical University, where her dissertation focuses on linguistics. Her research interests include the Balkans, sociolinguistics, and migration, and she has published articles on these topics in peer- reviewed journals. She is proficient in English.
