The SETA Academy Directorate is organizing a migration-themed training program in June aimed at enhancing young people’s knowledge on migration and refugee issues and encouraging their involvement in policy-making processes. Conducted within the scope of the ERASMUS+ project, the program will bring together approximately 80 students from various cities in Türkiye and several countries around the world in Istanbul.

In today’s world, globalization, increased mobility, technological developments, and regional conflicts are accelerating international migration, while also transforming processes of social cohesion and cultural interaction. The program prepared by SETA offers young participants the opportunity to examine migration from a multidimensional perspective.

Participants will receive both theoretical and practical training on topics such as “What is Migration?”, “Who is a Migrant?”, “Global Migration Trends”, “Legal Statuses”, and “Xenophobia.” Students from different countries will also have the chance to share their experiences with one another.

During the practical sessions, students will analyze data from the OECD Migration Database and develop policy recommendations on migrants in a “Policy Proposal Writing” workshop. Film analyses, debates, and workshops constitute key components of the program.

This initiative, carried out by SETA in partnership with ERASMUS+, aims to raise young people’s awareness of migration policies and encourage them to take active roles in relevant processes in the future.
