Having successfully published its 2021 Summer issue, Insight Turkey is hosting a series of panel discussions focusing on the recent developments and challenges in the Middle East and the Gulf by taking into consideration the Palestinian- Israeli impasse, Iranian politics, and Turkey’s increasing influence in the region. This first panel will center its attention on three of the key actors in the region, notably Iran, Qatar, and Turkey, and their policies towards the Gulf and the region.

The panel will feature 3 experts on the matter, Mahjoob Zweiri who will highlight the Iranian regime’s survival strategies on an external basis including the Palestinian cause, Ali Abo Rezeg will reveal the dynamics and geopolitical interests of Doha in the region, and Gökhan Ereli who will respectively discuss the key impediments that Turkey is facing in its foreign policy towards the Gulf.

While the region’s significance will inevitably rise in the coming years as more international and global players become active in the power struggle, we believe, this panel will contribute to attempts to examine and comprehend the regional challenges from a different perspective.
