Turkish-German economic and trade relations represent an important component of both countries’ economic performances. During the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic, though, multiple questions arose how to face effectively the repercussion of the contemporary crisis. In the light of the current developments both long-lasting allies and partners already introduced several measures and responses in order to limit the potential economic decline in both countries. Besides on the EU-level, German policymakers continuously discuss by aiming to limit the effects that particularly severely hurt small business, restaurants, tourism operators and other important branches. Similarly, Turkey’s government introduces additional economic and trade-related steps to further increase already initiated steps of economic support.
With the main motivation of coming together to find or at least address concepts of reviving bilateral economic and trade relations during these challenging times, SETA Berlin is pleased to host a distinguished web panel. The panel will be joined by experts in order to discuss the Turkish-German economic and trade relations during the COVID-19 pandemic and the future afterwards. By this, we will especially focus on questions with regard to a real chance for strengthening cooperation in the field of trade and economic relations of both countries.
