SETA Brussels ASBL is organising a web-panel entitled “Libya’s Political Transition Process” on Tuesday, 23rd of February 2021 at 16.30 CET.

17thof February 2021 marked the 10thyear of the Libyan revolution which occurred in the sequence of theuprisingsin the frame of the so-called Arab Spring. Since then the country was challenged from different angles be it domestically, regionally or internationally. Topics like security, civil war between different parties and efforts to ensure stability became always and are still an issue.

At this panel academics and experts will discuss about Libya’s political transition process, the appointment of the new interim government and the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum. In this frame Libya’s domestic and regional challenges, security issues and the impact of external actors will be dealt with in order to provide an insight into the current situation and to assess the political ongoings in the country.

The panelistsin alphabetical order include International Crisis Group’s consulting analyst for Libya Claudia Gazzini, Emeritus Director of Research at French National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS)François Burgat, Researcherin Security Studies Directorate of SETA Murat Aslan and Policy Fellow at European Council on Foreign Relations Tarek Megerisi. Dr. Talha Köse, coordinator of SETA Brussels ASBL, will moderate the web-panel.
