The PYD/YPG was completely removed from Afrin as a result of Operation Olive Branch (OOB), which was led by the Turkish Armed Forces (TAF) and Turkey-backed Free Syrian Army (FSA) and lasted for 58 days. Following President Erdogan’s statement promising the expansion of OOB into Iraq’s Sinjar, Tal Abyad and Manbij, public debate has intensified over the timing and character of the potential military operations toward these areas. How will OOB and subsequent military operations affect Turkey’s regional policies from now on? What will be the implications of these military operations for Iraq and Syria? OOB and the subsequent Turkish military operations will be analysed through the military and political lenses in this panel discussion.

The session will be held in Turkish, and simultaneous interpretation will be provided in English, as well.
