President Donald Trump decision to withdraw U.S. troops from Syria is a development that could open new doors in the U.S.-Turkey relations. The withdrawal of the U.S. presents a significant opportunity for Turkey whose primary interests are to get control of its southern border from PYD/PKK’s hand and the elimination of this terrorist group. However, the potential power vacuum in the Northern Syria also comes with new challenges for Turkey, Russia and Iran. At this point, it leads to several questions: Why did the U.S. decide to withdraw and how its Syria policy will evolve? Will the coordination between Turkey, Iran and Russia that has started with the Astana process, get affected from this development? What are the options for Turkey in regards to its military campaign to the east of the Euphrates? What it means to Trump’s power struggle in Washington D.C.? How it can be interpreted in terms of the US-Turkey relations?

Please join us in this upcoming event for the discussion of these questions.

Best regards.

The event will be held in Turkish. There will be simultaneous translation from Turkish to English.
