Dear friends…

We are witnessing in our region, in our neighbourhood very important events, evidently very important developments which will shape the history.

As AK Party, our approach towards these events are being questioned for many days, by media and political environs

First of all, I would like to tell you this:

AK Party has always stood by freedom.

AK Party has always stood by modern democracy.

AK Party, since its foundation, has believed that people’s choices and demands are above everything; has defended this very idea strongly on every ground.

I would like to capture your attention, AK Party is a political party who came to power  by declaring: “ENOUGH, THE SAY AND THE DECISION BELONGS TO THE PEOPLE” and started working and took responsibility by having faith only in people.

I always mention this, and I will repeat again: It’s the people who determined Ak Party’s course, and they will continue to draw this course. Ak Party’s fabric is weaved by people, and hereafter they will continue to weave it.

AK Party government is a take over of the people by democratic methods; it is a strong shouting of the people at the side of democracy; it is a position against status quo.

AK Party’s basis of existence is to sustain the will of the people and the democracy; it is to secure the rule of law, it is to effectuate the rights and the freedoms in the widest sense.

AK Party, not only in Turkey but all over the world, has always opposed status quo and oppression and meanwhile supported the aggrieved people without any fear or hesitation.

Turkey is putting forward an integrible foreign policy and playing a role which will change the stream of history and move all the stones in the region.

Turkey is breaking taboos by saying “stop” to the cruel.

Turkey is breaking taboos by calling the killer as “The Killer”.

Turkey, who shouts out “stop” to the ones who condemns people to blockades, also shouts out for justice and equity on every occasion.

Turkey is willing to have the prevailing of not only peace and stability in its region, but also democracy, universal justice and freedom.

We have put forward a true effort for our neighbours, our brother-nations not to leave them in an instable situation and fall into a brothers’ fight. We will continue to show this effort.

We always say that the countries that cannot solve their own problems, which cannot get out of the domestic chaos, which cannot come together with the others, would not be able to achieve a bright future, and protect their interests.

That is why we have called for a national accord in Palestine. That is why we have tried to secure a political accord in Lebanon. That is why we have tried to enhance a democratic reconcilement in Iraq.

We have always supported and underlined the importance of domestic peace, national accord, unity and democratic development of the countries in our region.

This parliamentary group is the one which made its name written in history as the voice of those who are oppressed in the whole world especially including our region as well as Turkey.

We should explain this very well: There is no administration which manages to survive in history through pressure, suppression and intimidation.

In every period of history, sooner or later, the human dignity and self-respect broke their chains, they ruined all walls and those who are oppressed had their curse take effect even though slowly.

Therefore, no administration can remain indifferent towards rights and freedoms, no government can approach insensitively towards the democratic demands of the nation.
