Zafer Meşe is the Coordinator at the SETA Foundation in Berlin. Meşe holds a Masters degree in Political Science from the Rheinische Wilhelms University in Bonn, Germany. He was enrolled in a Graduate Studies Program at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem with main focus on language studies (Hebrew and Arabic) and regional politics in the Middle East. İn the same time Meşe gave lessons in the fields of German-İsraeli relations at the Hebrew University. Following his academic studies Meşe worked as senior adviser to the Christian Democratic Party (CDU/CSU) Group in the German Bundestag in the fields of international and security policy with focus on transatlantic relations, defense and economy. Afterwards he worked in the private sector for two global leading companies in the aviation business in executive positions responsible for business development and governmental relations. Meşe has been awarded with a fellowship from the German Marshall Fund of the United States of America and worked with various German and American Thinktanks project-related on international security and European policy as well as migration and refugee topics.
