Yavuz Güçtürk was a researcher in Law & Human Rights. He received his bachelors and master's degrees in history from Middle East Technical University (METU) in Ankara. He is pursuing his doctoral studies in political science at Ankara University. Before joining SETA, he worked as a reporter and expert on human rights at several NGOs in Turkey.
In the shadow of on-going discussions about the integration and legal status of Syrians living in Turkey, Yavuz Güçtürk, a researcher at SETAs Law and Human Rights Department, made an assessment on the current position of Syrian refugees who have preferred forced displacement over war.
