Nurullah Gür received his BA and MA in Economics from Marmara University, in 2006 and 2008, respectively. Mr. Gür earned his PhD at the University of Essex in 2012, and worked as an RA between 2009 and 2012. Gür is currently an associate professor of economics at Istanbul Medipol University while conducting research in the Department of Economics at SETA-İstanbul. He has numerous articles published in international journals with a focus on economic development and finance-real sector relations. Interested in interdisciplinary studies, Gür works on books in the areas of international political economy and economic development.
To strengthen economic relations, Turkey and Qatar should finalize the ongoing free trade agreement negotiations, enable the use of local currencies as the medium of exchange in bilateral trade, and investment agencies from both countries should work together.
In this SETA Analysis, we first give a snapshot of the Turkish Economy. Secondly, we take an overview of actions taken by policymakers to ensure the efficient functioning of the economy and to relieve financial markets after the failed coup attempt.
