Ms. Barın graduated with dual major in sociology and psychology from Hacettepe University, Ankara. Her thesis is titled NGOs during the Secularization Process of Turkey. Barın earned an MA in the Department of Political and Social Sciences at the Gazi University, with a thesis titled Hate Crime, A Type of Racism. Actively involved in civil society organizations for long years Ms. Barın was also Ankara representative of the Women Against Discrimination (AKDER) and of the Young Civilians (Genç Siviller), a youth movement in Turkey. She is currently pursuing her Social Sciences doctorate degree at Gazi University, Ankara. Barın conducts studies on Europe, Immigration, Integration, expat Turks living in the EU countries, Islamaphobia, Human Rights, Minorities, Refugees and the Kurdish Question.
