“Persistent Rise of China” – The Latest Issue of Insight Turkey Is Published

Insight Turkey, one of the leading academic journals in Turkey and the region, in its first issue for 2018 brings to its readers valuable articles that focus mainly on China’s foreign policy. “Persistent Rise of China: Global Challenges and Regional Dynamics” assesses China’s growing influence in international and regional politics and experts in this field provide different perspectives regarding China’s global challenges and the regional dynamics.

The new issue of Insight Turkey postulates on how to read and understand China’s policies towards global powers, i.e. the U.S. and Russia, and regional powers, i.e. India and Turkey.  Earl Conteh-Morgan and Alexander Korolev analyze China’s stance towards international actors, respectively the U.S. and Russia, and one can notice that while on one had the rivalry between China and the U.S. in Africa is increasing, on the other hand the possibility for an alliance between China and Russia is increasing as well. Moreover, Bruno Maçães and Kadir Temiz focus mainly on the regional actors such as India and Turkey, both decisive actors in respective regions.

Moreover, this issue touches upon other important topics. Azzam Tamimi analyzes the relations between the U.S. and some Arab states and their role in the recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel by Trump. Jacques Leider assesses the Rohingya crisis, taking into account the historical process and the unjust suffering of the people living there.
