The Gulf region gained prominence in the world affairs in recent years. With the developments such as the arms deal with the United States and the rise of the Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman, Saudi Arabia, and to an extent the UAE, try to increase their influence in the region. Moreover, they want to respond to the increasing Iranian influence in the region by intervening in Yemen.

But these developments led to the cleavages within the Gulf countries. Recent Qatar crisis shows insecurities within the Gulf Cooperation Council. In light of these events, Turkey is at a crossroads; Turkish support for Qatar and its growing relations with Iran and Russia is perceived as a threat by Saudi Arabia and the UAE.

So what is the roadmap for Turkey in the recent Gulf crisis? What are the new opportunities and challenges and how Turkey should respond to them? This will be the main theme of the forthcoming Insight Turkey panel.

Before the publication of its special issue on the Gulf, Insight Turkey organizes a panel in which four speakers, two from Turkey and two from the Gulf, will talk about the current Gulf affairs and Turkey’s relations with the Gulf countries.

Note: Panel discussion will be held in Arabic and Turkish and translation will be provided.
